Re: Sanskrit Symbol on Drumkit

This one's a bit esoteric! It reads "Kleem," which is known as the seed mantra for spiritual development. The Gayatri mantra given at brahmin initiation begins with the word "Kleem." It is also often used in the worship of the goddess Durga. It denotes Lord Krishna, the Supreme ...

Re: Your top10 tracks

That certainly is a selection of beautiful tracks. You included some of the ones I would've (Only Love, Sound Of Drums, Great Hosanna) but my mood yesterday dictated the 10 that I chose. Maybe this is a topic for a separate discussion, but out of interest, how many of you have gained some serious in...

Re: Favourite album?

I think my tastes are a little different to most of you. K - 9/10 PP&A - 10/10 Strangefolk - 8/10 PP - 9.5/10 K2.0 - 9.5/10 I love K, it blew my mind 20 years ago, and it still does today, but as a failed musician, I feel that musically, the more recent albums are stronger and more diverse, but ...

Re: other bands

This https://hindsbrothers.bandcamp.com/album/ocean-of-milk is a great album made by 2 very close friends of mine, sorry if punting the album is against forum rules, but I really think that at least some of you would really enjoy it.

Re: K2.0 Impressions

I can't disagree with any of you. High Noon is beautiful. There is no filler on this album at all. The maturity in the songwriting is a highlight for me, along with some of the guitar and sitar. Crispians voice is getting better with age too. I probably sound like a biased crazed fan, but I am, all ...

K2.0 Impressions

Hi Folks. I've finally gotten around to getting my digital copy of this album and after 2 days, all I can say is WOW!!!! This is the best album I have had the pleasure of owning in years, and there is some esteemed company in there. Songs which didn't grab me at first, turned out to be slow cookers,...

Re: The return of the Forum - READ FIRST!

Hi Strangefolk I'm a longtime Kula Shaker fan (since 1997 when i discovered their music). Didn't realise there was a forum for this awesome band. I spend my spare time playing guitar and listening to Music. I'm also a Hare-Krishna devotee (more along the Crispian/George Harrison plainclothes devotee...
