Your top10 tracks

Postby GovindaJayaJaya » Tue Mar 15, 2016 10:24 am

Hey everyone, with the new album currently filling my ears on a daily basis and quickly becoming a favourite, what are your top 10 Kula Shaker tracks?

I dont think i could possibly order my 10, but here are my favourites.

Govinda
Mystical Machine Gun
Ophelia
Mountain Lifter
Oh Mary
Fool That I Am
Another Life
All Dressed Up (And Ready to Fall in Love)
Figure It Out
Hurry On Sundown (Hari Om Sundown)

Aw shit, there goes my 10 and I haven't actually even mentioned half of my favourites......I guess these 10 will be the favourites for my mood right now.......

This band actually has released a phenomenal amount of work and I would say that 99% of it is pure gold. A lot of people complain about Crispian's lyrics, but there is so much esoteric meaning hidden in there that would escape the casual listener with no previous knowledge of Vedic philosophy that it's no surprise to me. The more I listen to this band, the more I cant stop listening to them!
Oh there was a man he sang so pretty,
He loved me for two thousand years,
Why'd he come to New York City?
Once upon a time in America

I've been preaching to my mates for ages to listen to Kula Shaker. They don't understand how good they are.

I can listen straight through all their albums and love all the songs, but top ten here goes:

1. Mystical machine gun
2. Great hosanna
3. Govinda
4. Sound of drums
5. Narayana
6. Ophelia
7. Only love
8. All dressed up
9. Namami nanda
10. Tatva

I would like to see how that compares with others.

That certainly is a selection of beautiful tracks. You included some of the ones I would've (Only Love, Sound Of Drums, Great Hosanna) but my mood yesterday dictated the 10 that I chose.

Maybe this is a topic for a separate discussion, but out of interest, how many of you have gained some serious interest in Gaudiya Vaisnava philosophy due to this band?

For me, just great tunes. That's my only reason why I like Kula Shaker.

Here's my tuppence worth MINUS K. It was such an important in my life when it came out that it unfairly skews a top 10:-

1) Shower Your Love
2) Under The Hammer
3) Dance In Your Shadow
4) Modern Blues
5) Mountain Lifter
6) Sound Of Drums
7) Barbara Ella
8) Drink Tea For The Love Of God (love it!! )
9) Sister Breeze
10) Infinite Sun
Can I have everything louder than everything else?
